This collection is inspired by the quote, "The only constant in life is change, much like the ceaseless flow of water." Each garment is meant to embody the fluidity of existence, just like the flow of water.
Each silhouette contrasts geometric and organic textures. The geometric texture symbolizes control and life's constraints, while the organic texture embodies perpetual flux. This interplay creates a harmonious balance between maintaining control and embracing change.
To achieve this aesthetic, lightweight materials were used to allow for effortless layering. The essence of flowing water is not only emulated through light and soft fabrics but also through the control and structure of heavier materials.
“There are things you cannot control, and it is in accepting this truth that you find peace—not in the absence of struggle, but in the wisdom to know what to let go of.”
As an international student from Thailand, Myne is inspired by intricate techniques such as fabric manipulation, smocking, and draping. Her work heavily explores the art of fabric manipulation, where the transformation of materials evokes emotion, creates movement, and tells a story. By incorporating these techniques into their designs, Myne encourages exploration and creativity, showcasing the endless possibilities of fashion through material transformation. They are passionate about how these methods can alter the texture of fabric. Myne's designs also reflect a commitment to sustainability and draw from their personal journey of adulting.
