Nomadland beckons the audience to question: what will our clothes look like in response to the climate disaster we are soon to face?
Clothes have always been an honest mirror of the current zeitgeist, visually reflecting the political, environmental and economic atmosphere of the time. Garments have served us through many forms, constantly adapting and indicating our progressing lifestyles, movements and needs.
Nomadland pays homage to these fashion advancements through visual references, while using the notion to look forward; questioning how our clothes might look in a post apocalyptic world.
Ultimately, the collection aims to highlight the ramifications of climate change and the importance of a mass societal reconnection to mindful and balanced living.
